Essential oils have been used for centuries to prevent and attack the symptoms of the common cold and to strengthen the immune system. There are several groups or individual essential oils, characterized by its preventive properties, they are called Preventative Essential Oils.
The following oils are recognized for their anti-microbial abilities: Lavender, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Lemon, Lemongrass, Cinnamon, Clove Bud, Grapefruit, Sandalwood, Thyme (white), Peppermint, and Sage.
Essential oils help in the prevention of contracting the dreaded viruses that cause colds. They all deter the growth of viruses, especially in the autumn and winter time, when most people are indoors due to cooler weather and windows are kept closed, leading to poor air circulation. Essential oils can be diffused to cleanse and purify the air, and avoid winter germs that cause common colds.
Essential oils can be added to bathwater, diffuse them in the air, make respiratory inhalers, or apply them directly to the skin.
